  My pond has never been clearer

  I bought this as an early Christmas present for my dad. As his old filter was not doing so well and the pond was getting murkier. I bought this one to surprise him. It was fsirly easy for my dad to make all the connection to the pumps. He loved how quickly it got the pond looking clear again. Like our pond has never been this clear before on the old filter. He said he also like the uv function since his old filter the bulb wad broken. The filter is much larger than what we expected for the price, but so far it performs so well.

  Over the last 7 years I've had 5 of these filters, (currently using 3 for my large koi pond). 2 have died, the weak part that I've found is the valve that directs the water out of the filter (to the pond or to the "garden"). Make sure to have water running thru the filter before plugging the UV light in, if the light gets hot before its covered with water it can get hot enough that it will break when the cool water hits it. Overall these are good filters, but manually cleaning the sponges is time consuming. I'M HAPPY ENOUGH WITH THEM THAT I'LL CONTINUE USING THEM.

  I used this for a smaller above ground pond (700 gal) as I wanted more koi than I should, I wanted a bigger filter capacity than I needed. This does the trick. There are some common sense things that need to be learned about gaskets and such but good. The knob on top that compresses the filters while backlashing is difficult to turn and release from the compressed position. but that feature was mostly cosmetic in my evaluation as one has to take it apart and clean off the filters now and then anyway. 9 months and working great.
