  This has been a lifesaver for us. We are too old to be hunting our kayaks onto the rooftop of our truck. This saved us from that chore. We have a 5' bed on our Tacoma and can safely transport our two 12' kayaks from place to place. Easy peasy.

  Definitely would never trust it for 750lbs, and not too sure id trust it for 350lbs. I have a 05 Dakota, with a 5'3 bed. I bought this to haul 2x8x16 boards for floor joist. I only hauled 6 boards, about 10 minutes from home depote, and you can tell in the picture, it was already creasing. The biggest complaint I have with it, there is WAY to much slop in the fittings. They should include a sleeve to go in tubing, to provide less wiggle. There is so much slop, you can easily bounce and move this around 6-8"+ without a load on it, in about any direction. I'm a welder, so maybe I'll judge this a little more than the next guy, but it is 100% cheaply made. I'll probably take it to work with me one say, and strengthen it up some. For the people wanting it for kayaks/canoes, you shouldn't have any problems at all from it. People hauling heavier loads, might want to spend the extra money for stronger one.

  I wish I had bought one of these 20-years ago! The extension is easy to use, fully adjustable, and strong. I can easily transport 20 2x6x16-foot boards at one time in my pickup truck. This is one of the best designed products I've seen.
